[OORP] The Tournament Rules Empty
PostSubject: [OORP] The Tournament Rules   [OORP] The Tournament Rules EmptySun 8 Oct - 14:23

The Tournament begin today, there is so real end date for it, it will depend of the way the RP get.

There is a lot of NPC, most of their battles will only be summarized by the special account "NPC" or Myself via RP announcements.

The players who registered their characters will have full fighting RP, even versus a NPC character.

How will we choose the winners?

Everything done in RP will have a chance to change who win or not. Who knows? Maybe your character will lose to a NPC. But how?

Introducing: The Dices!

There is two dice you'll have to use in battle. One for the defence and one for the attack. It's totally random and even the Admins can't change the results.

Both are D20.

You do your RP, you use your dice and it give you a valor of Attack and Defence for the turn (1 answer = 1 turn).

You describe your actions depending of the dice result. If your Attack is superior to your opponent's Defence, the attack will work so you opponent will have to describe the effect of the attack on them.

So everyone as a chance.

A 1 is a Epic Failure and a 20 is an Epic Success. If two results are equal, the defence win anyway.

How to roll the Dice?

Right under your message box, there is a new option names Roll the Dice

When you answer, select the number of dices (2) and select one Attack Dice and one Defence Dice.

You'll see the result right under your answer.

PS: You can't use any dice on the First message of a new Topic. Use it to prepare for the fight and describe what's happening before the battle.

The spectators:

At any moment in the fight, the other players of characters looking at the fight can come in the RP and comment the fight/or have their little RP in between.

The fighters don't have to wait for them to reply!

The order of the answers is only important for the Fighters. So here, the etiquette of Role play don't apply to the spectators.

If you have any question, any doubt, just ask a modo or an Admin, or post your question just below, we'll be glad to help you.

When we do the dice rolls, we don't know what the answer will be until we post (the answer to a dice roll changes each time you select to preview), do you expect us to accurately describe the action based on the rolls or are the rolls not quite that essential to the post? Also, may I use this thread to briefly test something?

Good question.

You have to tell your actions without knowing if they will work. That's the point of the Dices. You will know only after you post.

It's your opponent who will have to react to what you did depending of the result of YOUR dice and the one he had before.

There will be an example with Jäger to show how to begin the fight, since the first message don't have any indication of the Attack and Def of the opponent.

Yes, you can test something.

Aha, ok! That actually makes my need to test something much less important, Although it may be good for anti-cheating purposes. I wanted to see if editing a post after you had posted it with a roll would change the answer the roll gave, because then people could write their actions to make sense without changing the roll answer (for example, someone rolls a one, and they edit their action to their character completely failing to even cast their magic because it was a critical failure.)

It wouldn't be necessary for every roll of course- most of the more neutral or high rolls (between 7-15) would work fine for any usual action of your character, but the ones that are very low or very high may warrant a different description (It's possible if Bones were to get a very low role on his attack and defense one turn, I may want to make it so that he's begun to panic because of his own memories or because he's scared of his opponent for whatever reason, but that's just an idea.)

With the Settings, you can't change the result of your dice even with editing unless.

The way you describe your reactions dépending of your opponent Roll and your las Roll is up to you. (panic attack works just fine, you can also trip and fall or be blinded by the lights of the Arena for an instant.)
